Tough but good!
By Jodie Stimpson - Vision Fitness Ambassador
Things are tough out here training wise, I am really tired most of the time, and in between sessions the compressions are put straight on, the PowerBar protein goes straight down my neck, and it's stretching, stretching, getting ready for the next session.
I have definitely learnt the art of sleeping between training sessions and it does help! I know a lot of people don’t get an opportunity to sleep between sessions, and I never really use to myself, but out here with the air con on I am able to just try and get the extra bit of recovery for my body.
So I have got a few things to tell you, firstly Mr Will Clarke did an awesome job at the Australia Sprint Champs finishing in 4th place and Kathy Trembley also did a great job at the 5k, breaking the course record in 16.35, well done guys. I did the 5k as well, and let's just say I wasn’t happy with it at all and i'll move on to the next session.
Chris Hayward is my room-mate out here and it's great to have him here to train with, it's amazing how much he has improved especially in the pool, but when you've got Michelle as a coach I wouldn't expect anything else.
We also have a new member of Team Dillon with us, which I am extremely lucky to have treat me, Yulia is a sports masseur, and is great at her job. Everyone is just waiting for their next appointment with Yuila and that certainly includes me! Thank you Yuila you are keeping us all training hard.
Really not long now at all until Mooloolaba World Cup, which will be my first race of 2011, I was going to race beforehand, but unfortunatly that didn’t go to plan so Mooloolaba World Cup will be my first triathlon of 2011, not a bad one to start the season with.
There was a local race, Kingscliff triathlon which a few good friends raced from the Gold Coast, Nicki, Patrick (who had some bad luck, swimming the whole way with no goggles and then all the bike with out drinking water and still finished!!!!) Sam who got 3rd and the champion of the day Liz who won her age group. Well done guys.
Hope all is going well with everyone’s training back home.
One more blog before Mooloolaba.
All the best guys xxx
